Telling Tales | #04

THi everyone,

Hope you’ve all had suitably smashing weeks. Here’s what I’ve been up to…

1. Making this…
There’s more than one way to tell a story. It’s been ages since I’ve made a video and I had great fun putting this together for my chiropractor who has been helping my wife deal with her dodgy hips for the past 18 months. A big thank you to Polly & Gracie for starring in it. Video is such a powerful storytelling channel and doesn’t have to cost the earth or take forever to do.  This was shot, edited and shared in a morning.

2. Feeling grateful for this…
Sticking with video, I’m incredibly grateful to two very good friends for putting this video together for me. Toby Budd surprised me with this – a short and sweet video testimonial of what it’s like working with me, from Stafford Sumner at Jarrang. It’s a pretty cool feeling when someone you have an enormous amount of respect for says such nice things about you. Thanks guys!

3. Listening to this…
Queens of the Breakers from The Barr Brothers. The album is from last year, only just listening to it now. It’s great.

4. Having fun with this…
We were going through a huge quantity of sparkling water in our house and every week we had a small mountain of plastic bottles to deal with. It felt like, and was, such a waste. So we got a SodaStream for some vintage, retro fun and have said goodbye to the plastic. Bring on the bubbles.

5. Contemplating this…
Quote from Interstellar, in the week we said goodbye to Stephen Hawking.

“We’ve always defined ourselves by the ability to overcome the impossible. And we count these moments. These moments when we dare to aim higher, to break barriers, to reach for the stars, to make the unknown known. We count these moments as our proudest achievements. But we lost all that. Or perhaps we’ve just forgotten that we are still pioneers. And we’ve barely begun. And that our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, because our destiny lies above us.”

Have a great weekend, and don’t forget to, every now and then, stop and look up to the stars.

Thanks for reading,

TT

PS – If you’re not stepping into the weekend like this, you’re doing something wrong.
