Telling Tales | #01

Welcome to the first issue of Telling Tales – a weekly round-up of things I’ve found interesting, inspiring or thought provoking.

I’ve added you to the list because you’re either a client, a friend, or a family member. If you’d rather not receive these emails, it’s no problem at all, I won’t be offended, just click the unsubscribe link at the bottom (this doesn’t apply to family, if you unsubscribe, we’re through).

So, without further ado, here’s what I’ve been up to this week…

1. Listening to…

This awesome new podcast from Seth Godin. I’ve been a fan of his for a while and this doesn’t disappoint. An essential 20 minute listen where he discusses the ‘hype machine’ contrasted with the value of doing something properly, rather than loudly. So many lessons to be learnt here.

2. Working on…

I get to work with great people who do great things. Loved writing this article on how mobile tech is shaping society for Quinyx, an amazing company based in Stockholm with offices across Europe. Also spent a bit of time refreshing my own website. There’s some way to go but I’m happy to get it started. Massive shout out to Thad Cox for his amazing work on helping me develop my brand and the gorgeous illustrations. I can’t recommend him highly enough if you have a branding project coming up.

3. Singing…

Yes, I joined a choir. Many of you know I spend a lot of my time playing rugby so this may come as a surprise. I decided to step outside my comfort zone and I love it. There’s also something wonderfully cathartic and powerful about singing with a group of people. Here’s what it sounds like (it’s surprisingly good!).

4. Grateful for…

Discovering the benefits of chiropractic care. If you haven’t tried it, give it a go, you might surprise yourself. The amazing Simon Finemore puts me back together each week and I couldn’t be more grateful. He also looks after my wife and little girl who love a good adjustment! You can find out more here or, for those in London, Chiro.London are fab.

5. Laughing at…

This from the brilliant Man vs Baby. For anyone who has kids or has ever tried to open a stair gate, the struggle is most definitely real!

Have a great weekend (I’ll be busy celebrating my sister’s 30th birthday) and I hope you’ve enjoyed the first issue of Telling Tales.

Thanks!

Tommy
